Welcome to the Higher Education Appeals Board
The Higher Education Appeals Board is a separate authority whose task is to hear appeals against certain decisions within the area of universities and colleges. The board also hears appeals from certain decisions relating to education within the university of applied sciences. The board has its office at UKÄ, which is the so-called host authority and handles the board's office matters with its staff. The board deals with roughly 3,000 cases in a year. The vast majority of cases concern admission to the university. The board consists of eight members and the chairman is or has been a regular judge.
